DCL Trivia Night for Volunteers

Douglas County Libraries Volunteer Appreciation Event During National Volunteer Appreciation Week, Douglas County Libraries Director Bob Pasicznyuk welcomed a large audience at their annual volunteer appreciation event. The cruise-themed evening featured ‘Trivia Night’ aboard the Lido Deck. The library district celebrates its volunteers with a districtwide event every year in which volunteers across all seven libraries can mingle and feel the impact of being a part of a larger team and vision.

“I would like to thank Douglas County Libraries for the awesome event they held for all their volunteers,” shared Joyce Kramer, a library volunteer for the adult literacy program. “I attended with my husband, and we both had a great evening. We had really nice guests at our table, and we held our own for the Trivia game – a strong 4th place! The food was delicious. It was a very nice ‘Thank You’ for all the volunteers and I greatly appreciated it!”

National Achievement for Douglas County Libraries

It’s an exciting time for Douglas County Libraries (DCL)! The library district has been certified as a “Service Enterprise” by Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service and founded by former President George H.W. Bush. As a member of the first cohort of organizations to be trained as a Service Enterprise in Colorado, DCL is the fifth organization in the state to receive this distinction and usage of the Service Enterprise certified seal.

High performing, Service Enterprise organizations commit to valuing volunteerism organization-wide, as part of a continuum of diverse community engagement. DCL sought this certification to more closely align their volunteers with their goals, and position themselves as an adaptable, sustainable and better resourced leader in the way they engage community members.

With this certification, DCL joins a prestigious group of nonprofits committed to excellence in volunteer engagement to drive positive change, improve lives, and strengthen the community.Service Enterprise Certification Awarded to Douglas County Libraries
