FAQs for Organizations
- What benefits does the portal provide to my organization?
The portal matches volunteers and organizations with a similar passion and availability. By posting, you are participating in a countywide movement to increase volunteerism and help residents make a meaningful impact in their community.
- How do I access the portal to post opportunities?
Your approved umbrella organization, or “Partner,” will create a user login for you to post opportunities. Once you receive your login, click on the Admin link at the bottom of the website home page. Then enter your login in the “Partner/Agency Login” box.
If your organization is not a member of the Partnership of Douglas County Governments, please fill out the “I need volunteers” form. For a listing of Partnership members, click on “About Us.”
- As an umbrella organization (or “Partner”), how should I name my organization’s agencies?
Organizations may have similar departments. Therefore, agency names should include an identifying town or city. For instance, for a Parks and Recreation Department, please name it “(City or Town name) Parks and Recreation).
- What types of opportunities should be posted?
This community resource should be used to post calls for volunteers for both one-time events as well as recurring opportunities within your organization. You may recruit for individuals or groups of people.
- How do I add people to have access to post opportunities?
Please contact your organization’s portal advisory group member to request additional user accounts.
As an agency user, how do I edit my password or name?
When you are logged in, click on your name in the upper right corner of the screen.
I have started to write an opportunity, but I don’t have time to complete it. How do I save my draft?
First, remove the check in the “Display to Public” box. Next, the mandatory fields (marked with an asterisk) must be completed before the system will save your work. As a quick fix, type a few miscellaneous letters in any box that has an asterisk before you hit “Submit.” Then you can come back at a later time to complete your opportunity.
How do I get assistance?
The blue question marks provide further detailed information about what is suggested for each field. In addition, you may contact your organization’s portal advisory group member or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
